It was important for us to forecast future and current trends in order for our product to be on trend at the time of production and to ensure they appeal to our target audience. This stage started with us looking at WGSN for colour palette predictions, from which we created colour moodboards … and then conducted several shop reports and further product research.
We visited shops such as m&s, next and monsoon children and looked at girl’s clothes specific to our age range
… From these sources of research we decided to use lovely pastel colours and pattern details including vintage style polka dots and florals throughout our book and branding - as these were the most popular and appealing details attained from our research and shop reports!
